Join us Sunday July 29 to celebrate Guru Purnima Mahotsav – a celebration to help us re-commit our minds in the surrender of our Guru.
As described in our Hindu Vedic scriptures, the meaning of the word “Guru” is
“The one who dispels the darkness of ignorance is the Guru”. Mahaprabhu Chaitanya has also defined a Guru as someone “who has realized God”
The Bhāgwatam states, “Let us adore our respected Guru first, and then pay our respects to Lord Krishna.” This is because Lord Krishna delivers those who have completely purified their hearts and minds, but it is the Guru who delivers fallen souls like us.
So in essence, if someone surrenders to a true Guru, who has the ability to infuse true knowledge in the mind of a devotional and inquisitive soul, then very soon that sincere soul will realize God and attain absolute liberation from sorrow and receive unlimited divine happiness.
Our beloved Guru Jagadguru Shree Kripalu ji Maharaj says “To attain the grace of God, one will have to completely purify their heart. This is possible only with the guidance of a genuine Guru.”
So on this day let us come together and pay our obeisance to our beloved Guru Jagadguru Kripalu ji Maharaj and sing the glories in his sweet remembrance.
